One-Stop Early VotingDoes your schedule make it difficult for you to vote at your precinct on Election Day?Would the potential for long lines on Election Day make you less likely to vote? Do you already know for whom you want to vote, and would just prefer to go ahead and do it? Are you going to be busy helping a candidate or campaign on election day? Or are you a poll worker for the county? Will you be out of town on Election Day, but prefer not to request and return an absentee ballot? Did you intend to register to vote, but missed the deadline? Have you moved and forgotten to change your registration? Do you like the idea of voting on weekends? (or become one of the first to vote on a Sunday)? If any of the questions above apply to you, then One-Stop Early Voting is probably for you! But you don't need an excuse to participate. One-Stop Early Voting is the latest extension of "No Excuse Early Voting" which has existed in the state for several years. You don't need an "excuse" to participate. And now with six locations (double what was available in the primaries) in Pitt County to vote using One-Stop, with Saturday voting at all six locations on multiple weekends, evening hours at several locations, and Sunday afternoon voting being piloted (one weekend only and only at one location), it would be hard to find an excuse not to vote!
Other than the fact that multiple locations and schedules make it easier to vote, the major difference between One-Stop Early
Voting and the older "No Excuses" Early Voting is the fact that you can register and vote all in "One Stop." If you are already
registered to vote, please scroll down to Locations and Hours.
One-Stop Early Voting Locations and HoursPitt County residents may vote at any One-Stop location in Pitt County, regardless of the precinct where they normally vote. In order to make One-Stop available to as many people across the county with varied schedules, some One-Stop sites are open in the morning, while others are open during the evening. All sites will have Saturday voting available on multiple weekends, but only the Community Schools Building location (County Home Road) will have Sunday voting, and that will only be on October 26th.Please also note that 5 locations will begin operation on Thursday, October 16th, but the 6th location, the Newman Catholic Center on 10th St. adjacent to ECU Campus will not begin operation until Friday, October 24th. The last day for One-Stop Early Voting is Saturday, November 1st and Saturday voting closes at 1:00pm. (As with any election, anyone in line at the closing time will be allowed to vote, but those arriving afterwards will be turned away unless some court decision is made to extend the hours.) Below is a list of One-Stop Early Voting locations. "Weekday Hours" shows which sites are open "early" (8am-5pm) and which are open "late" (11am-7pm). "Saturday" shows all 6 locations are open from 8am-1pm on Saturday, and "Sunday" shows the site that is open from 1pm-5pm on October 26 only.
